Lasting Gifts

A Lasting Gift is a beautiful way to honor someone very special or as a memorial as well as enhancing the trails for Anne Arundel County.

We have some great choices for those really special gifts including; engraved bricks, gorgeous benches or bulletin boards with bronze plaques, water fountains and pet fountains and Native trees and bushes. The sale of the Lasting Gifts helps to fund the many activities in which Friends are involved.  The Friends are recognized by the IRS as a 501c(3) not-for-profit organization and your contribution is fully tax deductible.

Engraved Bricks

Friends offers the purchase of personalized engraved bricks which are placed in the walkway entrances to Hatton-Regester Green, Arnold Station,  and Jonas Green Park on the B&A Trail, and Babington Green on the WB&A Trail.  This unique gift is a chance to remember a loved one, mark a special occasion or show someone that you care. All engraved bricks are installed in the walkways at the Hatton-Regester Green located between Riggs Ave and Evergreen road, Arnold Station behind Arnold Shopping Center and at Jonas Green Park, just off Route 450 at the Severn River Bridge. On the WB&A Trail, the bricks are installed at Babington Green at the intersection of Piney Orchard Parkway and Odenton Road.

Engraved Pet Bricks

Friends have a Pet Garden in Severna Park on the B&A Trail.  The Pet Garden will allow anyone to honor their best buddies by purchasing an engraved brick which will be installed in the garden.

Benches

The purchase of a bench is a wonderful way to honor someone special and enhance the trails.  Each bench is mounted on a concrete base and has a personalized bronze plaque installed.  Please note, there are no new locations for new benches available at the present time.  With approval from the county, a new bench and engraved plaque can be purchased to replace an older, existing bench for specific locations.

  • B&A Trail – Several bench replacements are available north of the Earleigh Heights Ranger Station.
  • Broadneck Pennisula Trail – Three (3) new bench locations are available
  • BWI Trail – Bench replacements are not available
  • South Shore Trail – New benches, already installed, are available for dedication
  • WB&A Trail – bench replacements are not available

The current cost for new and replacement benches is $3000.   The cost includes the bronze plaque, the bench, pouring the concrete pad (if needed) and installation of the bench and plaque.

Bulletin Boards

THANK YOU to everyone who purchased a bulletin board this year.  The older bulletin boards were replaced with new recycled plastic composite bulletin boards on our trails.  The Friends prioritized the replacements and are pleased to report there is only one bulletin board available for replacement!

The available bulletin board replacement is located at

Jonas and Anne Catharine Green Park.

The current cost is $2500.   The cost includes the bronze plaque, the bulletin board, pouring the concrete pad and installation.

There are no available locations for new bulletin boards at the present time.  As additional miles of trails are added, the County may approve new locations.  The bulletin boards are either one sided or two sided, depending on the location.  Please contact us if you have a specific location in mind.  Bulletin board installation is limited per year and subject to County approval.  To order please complete Lasting Gift Application Form.
