Beginning even earlier than the railroads, businesses built near communities. As the tracks were laid for the Washington and Annapolis Electric Railway more than 100 years ago, businesses aligned to the transportation routes and provided goods and services to the surrounding communities. As the rails were converted to trails, the businesses thrive again. It is estimated the multi-modal trails in Anne Arundel County welcome more than 1,000,000 users annually.
We are thrilled to share the mission of the Friends of Anne Arundel County Trails with the businesses and community groups along and near the trails. Please acknowledge them as your friends too as you experience our trails.
